Grand Master Don Dalton: Leader of the Global Traditional Taekwon-Do Movement
Hailing from Ireland, Grand Master Don Dalton has established himself as a central figure in the world of traditional Taekwon-Do. As the president of the International Taekwon-Do Federation Union (ITF Union), Dalton leads a global movement that keeps alive the legacy and vision of General Choi Hong Hi. This movement not only preserves the purity of the Korean art but also innovates with modern training methods suited for the new era.
Founded on April 11, 2015, the ITF Union brings together instructors and practitioners from over 50 countries, providing black belt certification, world-class seminars, and international championships. In Mexico, the ITF Union is represented by Master Rafael Álvarez Galindo, who faithfully follows the organization’s global objectives.
During his visit to Mexico in November 2021, Grand Master Don Dalton shared essential information about the ITF Union with Revista Dentro del Arte Marcial, highlighting its commitment to General Choi’s teachings and its focus on maintaining high technical and moral standards. In an interview with GM Jason Waddley, Dalton emphasized the importance of brotherhood and non-interference in the national affairs of its members, promoting a sense of family within the Taekwon-Do community.
