Almaty, Kazakhstan – Weekend of April 2025
This past weekend, the city of Almaty played host to a vibrant international Taekwon-Do seminar, bringing together practitioners, instructors, and masters from around the world. Held at one of the city’s premier sports facilities, the event highlighted the growing dedication and enthusiasm for the martial art founded by General Choi Hong Hi.
The seminar covered a wide range of technical aspects, including precise execution of tul (patterns), sparring strategies, and self-defense techniques. Special emphasis was also placed on the philosophical principles of Taekwon-Do—courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self-control, and indomitable spirit.
Led by renowned Sabumnims, the event welcomed enthusiastic participation from both local students and international delegations. “The energy here in Almaty has been incredible. There’s a real passion for learning and sharing that shines through in every technique,” commented one of the lead instructors.
Beyond technical refinement, the seminar served to strengthen the bonds of friendship between schools and countries, fostering an atmosphere of mutual respect and camaraderie.
