Poland Summer Camp Aug 22
For 11th year running, two ITF Union schools from Poland merged their forces to host the annual summer training camp in a beautiful little town of Krasnobród in the Roztocze region in the
south-east of Poland, not too far from the border of Ukraine.
The event was hosted by Piotr Bernat 6th Dan, leader of LKSW Dan Świdnik, and Grzegorz Sokołowski 5th Dan, who is the head instructor of PKSW Azja Pabianice, as a part of their “Two Teams One Spirit” project.
A total of 121 participants have spent 9 days together in a beautiful local holiday resort “U Buzunów”. Early
morning warm up, two classes a day, open dojang in the evening for individual training were just one side of a
daily schedule.
The camp crew organized a number of additional activities for both younger and older participants.
Rope park visit, hiking, trip to the local dinosaur park for the young ones, swimming pool in the resort, lots of games, improvised painting class with an Ukrainian
refugee artist staying in the same location, daily team games, campfire, disco party… almost too many to
Mention.
One of the highlights of the event was a two day sparring seminar conducted by famous coach Manuel Nordio from Italy, 5th Dan Kickboxing.
The competition squad had an opportunity to prepare physically for the new season under Katarzyna Lis, former Olympic Taekwondo European
medalist and a graduate of the Academy of Physical Education, during a series of
specialised fitness classes.
The camp finished with a Taekwon-do and Kickboxing grading, where over 50 participants received new grades.
The Kickboxing part of the grading was conducted by instructor Łukasz Staiński 2nd Dan Kickboxing.
The youngest participants of the camp were 7 years old and for many of them it was their first stay away from home without their parents!
The event was so successful and the venue so liked by the participants, that it was already
decided to host the next edition in the very same place in August 2023.
